Good Doggie Training

Our ethos

Creating harmony through understanding

Stating the obvious, your dog is a different species! He doesn't speak your language and he likes to do lots of things that we find repulsive (think of licking your bottom!). It's no surprise that many people struggle to achieve the harmony that they dream of with their dog.

We use motivational techniques to help pups and adult dogs alike learn what they need to become the dog that you have always dreamed of! We use communication techniques that your dog already understands, so it make sense to him. This helps him learn much quicker and builds his trust in you.

Instil a solid recall

Letting your dog off lead to have a run about and sniff the delights of the world at large, is really important for his mental and physical well-being. Recall is the most important command if you are ever going to let your dog off lead. Recall training should begin the day your pup comes home.

Polite behaviour

Polite behaviour at gates and doors can make a huge difference to your quality of life. How many people have a battle as their dog strains to get out of the door or garden gate first! Teach your pup right from the beginning that you go through doors and gates first and he waits until invited to come through.

A dog that can go anywhere

Dogs do not understand English and they don't read books about how to behave. We have to teach them from as soon as they come home at 8 weeks old what their new world is like, to be confident in it and what is expected from him.
